Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward health care providers serving patients with cirrhosis, including hepatologists, gastroenterologists, nephrologists, critical care specialists, physician assistants, and nurses. Other health care professionals are also invited to participate.

Activity Overview
This Clinical Consultations™: Facilitating Optimal Treatment Outcomes and Multidisciplinary Care in Hepatorenal Syndrome-Acute Kidney Injury (HRS-AKI) is a video-based program in which 2 experts use a case-based approach to discuss the treatment and management of HRS-AKI. In this activity, the faculty focus on the current and emerging therapeutic strategies for the diagnosis and management of HRS-AKI and review investigational therapies. This engaging format is designed to help clinicians identify best practices in the diagnosis and management of HRS-AKI and to improve outcomes for their patients with this disease.

Upon completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:

Define the criteria used to diagnose hepatorenal syndrome of acute kidney injury.
Summarize the pathophysiology of hepatorenal syndrome of acute kidney injury.
Implement evidence-based treatments for hepatorenal syndrome of acute kidney injury.
