Ending the HIV Epidemic in the Southeast: Strategies to Increase PrEP Uptake in Rural and Underserved Communities Part 2: Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP): Putting HIV Prevention Into Practice

Target Audience

Program Overview
Recently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released updated guidelines for the management of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) which include new recommendations for initial and follow-up HIV testing. In this CME/CE activity, which is Part 2 of a four-part series titled Ending the HIV Epidemic: Strategies to Increase PrEP Uptake in Rural and Underserved Communities, expert faculty will review current guidelines for initiating and monitoring individuals on PrEP as well as clinical evidence for available PrEP formulations. Practical strategies to overcome barriers to PrEP uptake and adherence in vulnerable populations, including telemedicine, will also be discussed.
