Target Audience
This activity is intended for clinicians treating patients in underserved populations.

Program Overview
Over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, significant disparities have emerged. These three patient case studies will help you to more effectively care for patients in underserved populations:

Alberto is a 67-year-old man from the Dominican Republic with COPD and type 2 diabetes.
Gabriela is a 49-year-old woman with obesity, type 2 diabetes, and hypertension who lives in a multigenerational home.
Damon is a 45-year-old Black man with comorbid conditions who presented to an urgent care center after 7 days of worsening symptoms.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

Identify risk factors (eg, social determinants of health, comorbidities) that increase risk for severe COVID-19
Describe current management strategies and identify potential treatments for mild and moderate COVID-19
Describe current management strategies and identify approved and in-development treatments for patients with COVID-19 requiring hospitalization
