Catching Your Breath in COPD - Module 3: Managing COPD in the Era of COVID-19

Overview / Abstract:

Target Audience
The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of primary care and pulmonology clinicians, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, who manage patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Program Overview
COPD management goals have shifted in recent years from acutely treating exacerbations to emphasizing appropriate maintenance therapy that stabilizes disease as much as possible and prevents exacerbations, hospitalization, and potentially death. This activity will provide current Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) guidelines as well as expert insights for the evaluation, treatment, and longitudinal follow-up of COPD.

Educational Objective
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Implement recent guidelines on COPD management, including GOLD recommendations, in day-to-day clinical practice
