LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Describe the role of the immune response to kidney allograft with a focus on how it impacts the efficacy of immunosuppression and the critical importance of adherence to immunosuppressive regimens
• Summarize current clinical evidence for the efficacy of immunosuppressive regimens to prevent acute and long-term graft rejection
• Apply the KDIGO 2020 guideline for Evaluation and Management of Candidates for Kidney Transplantation, with a focus on patients with a history of cardiovascular disease and non-adherence

The primary target audience includes transplant surgeons, nephrologists, and nephrology nurses.
