This module will provide an overview of opportunistic infections for the HIV care team. Part of the conference "HIV: the Basics" session, the module will explore what members of the care team should know about opportunistic infections.

At the completion of this educational activity, participants will:
Describe common opportunistic infections seen among persons with HIV

Cite reasons for opportunistic infections in 2022

Determine when to start antiretroviral therapy in the setting of an opportunistic infection
