Access Activity

Overview / Abstract:

Activity Overview
This online educational activity is designed to provide expert interpretation of new and emerging options for the prevention of migraine, with a forward-looking perspective on how migraine management for women can impact clinical practice of obstetrics and gynecology. Migraine pathophysiology, mitigating progression from episodic to chronic migraine, and topline clinical trial data for new and emerging agents targeting the calcitonin gene-related peptide pathway are among key topics presented in a multimedia format, including a series of video interviews with an expert thought leader integrated into text-based elements.
Target Audience
This educational program is directed toward obstetrician-gynecologists. Nurses, primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who treat women with migraine are also invited to participate.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
• Describe the association between the pathobiology of migraine and its clinical presentation
• Design therapeutic strategies that reduce the risk of chronic migraine
• Evaluate clinical trial safety and efficacy data for approved small molecule CGRP receptor antagonists and CGRP-monoclonal antibodies used to prevent or reduce migraine episodes
