Overview / Abstract:

Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward health care professionals who treat patients with ADA-SCID, including pediatric immunologists, bone marrow transplant physicians, pediatric infectious disease experts, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses.

Program Overview
This Clinical Consultations™ is a video-based program in which 2 experts use a case-based approach to discuss the diagnosis and management of patients with adenosine deaminase severe combined immunodeficiency (ADA-SCID). In this activity, the faculty focus on individualizing approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with ADA-SCID. This engaging format is designed to help clinicians identify best practices in the diagnosis and management of ADA-SCID and to improve outcomes for their patients with this disease.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
Discuss the role of screening for infants with suspected ADA-SCID
Implement optimal strategies for diagnosing infants with ADA-SCID
Create individualized treatment plans for optimal management of patients with ADA-SCID
