Access Activity

Overview / Abstract:

Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward dermatologists, NPs, PAs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who are involved in the treatment and management of HS. Primary care providers, women’s health professionals, and proctologists who may be involved in first-line diagnosis of HS will also be targeted.

Program Overview
This video-based program is designed for health care professionals to explore the diagnosis and treatment of patients with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) through a unique perspective, putting the patient voice front and center. A patient will lend their expertise to this program by sharing their journey living with HS. This online activity focuses on the complex disease pathophysiology and etiology of HS, the clinical presentation and diagnostic evaluation, and the efficacy and safety of therapies recommended for both symptom control and agents that may modify the disease course of HS.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
Recognize the characteristic features of HS and the challenges that result from associated psychological and medical comorbidities.
Determine when it is important to refer the patient to a dermatologist or other specialists for diagnosis further assessment, and/or care.
Devise multifaceted and multidisciplinary treatment strategies for patients with HS which are informed by available evidence and individual patient needs.
Develop individualized management plans for patients with HS which incorporate aspects of the patient journey.
