Overview / Abstract: |
Every person living with epilepsy should have a seizure action plan. Every person with epilepsy should also know about seizure rescue therapies. Improving care for people with epilepsy starts with a conversation about seizure action plans and rescue therapies. In this activity, celebrity advocate Jack Coleman (“Dynasty”, “Heroes”, “The Office”) introduces adults with epilepsy and care partners who talk about the impact of seizure action plans and rescue therapies. Epilepsy nurse specialists explore new rescue therapy options that can be given by patients and care partners to treat seizures and prevent seizure emergencies. These specialists share practical tips for creating shared understanding, individualizing seizure action plans, and educating about rescue therapies. Downloadable resource handouts for health professionals and patients/care partners are provided. |
