Overview / Abstract: |
National Diagnostic Imaging Symposium is designed to meet the educational needs of radiologists whether in general or specialized care and radiology residents/ fellows who desire to learn, in depth, how to use imaging in a clinical practice including night and weekend call setting for screening, diagnosis and staging of injury and disease. New 5-Day Emergency Radiology Track This new 5-day Emergency Radiology track is a mornings-only focused track for radiologists, intensivists, trauma surgeons, and emergency medicine physicians who provide services in emergency departments and other critical care locations. Increase diagnostic capabilities in multiple radiology sub-specialties including Body Imaging, Musculoskeletal Imaging, Neuroradiology, Cardiothoracic Imaging and Emergency Radiology Utilize CT and MRI to assess injury and disease in the brain, bony skeleton and internal organs and organs systems Understand the role of ultrasound in current imaging paradigms and understand how to optimize protocols and scan interpretation Effectively use MDCT and MR imaging to evaluate the GI tract including the liver and spleen, the pancreas, and the small and large bowel Plan the appropriate imaging protocols of emergency department patients and understand how to optimize study interpretation and patient triage Understand how to interpret high-resolution CT (HRCT) scans for a range of interstitial lung diseases as well as how to use HRCT in patient management Understand how to utilize non-invasive imaging options such as CT, MR and ultrasound for the evaluation of cardiovascular disease ranging from the coronary arteries to the aorta and to the carotid arteries Understand the role of CT and MRI for a range of neurologic pathologies ranging from stroke to tumor imaging Learn how to optimize scan protocols and learn about potential pitfalls in classic applications including hematuria, GI bleeding and the incidental adrenal mass. Enhance understanding of the use and limitations of PET/CT in current oncologic applications and its role with CT and MRI Imaging Learn the current status of AI in Radiology today including its role in practice today, and its potential impact over the next few years |
