Access Activity

Overview / Abstract:

This 11-hour ACPE-accredited knowledge-based home study is designed for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians seeking to strengthen their knowledge of nonsterile compounding. Participants will review the regulatory framework governing nonsterile compounding, including USP General Chapters <795> and <800>, personnel competencies, facility requirements, quality assurance principles, and pharmaceutical calculations. The program also examines the formulation, preparation, and quality considerations for commonly compounded dosage forms, including solutions, suspensions, topical preparations, capsules, suppositories, transdermal preparations, and tablet triturates.

As a PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Program, this home study provides a standardized educational experience that supports the safe, accurate, and compliant preparation of individualized nonsterile compounded medications.
