Overview / Abstract: |
This presentation is designed to expose pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to what is being promoted to the public regarding CBD. The topics are outside of FDA-approved claims and/or labels. While CBD is being used as a drug, safety and efficacy have not been approved for the claims made. The question is, what evidence is there to back up the statements made? And therefore, what messages are conveyed to market these products? So, one needs to understand the contents of the promotions and then assess if the promotion has any scientific justification. The American College of Apothecaries (ACA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. ACA has accredited this program for 1.0 contact hour (0.1 CEUs) of continuing education credit for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. |
